About the Conference
CHIP envisions a future where transformative education is accessible to all health science students, which empowers students to become agents of change in the healthcare system. This conference embodies our vision; CHIP was built by engaged students who acknowledged health and social inequity issues and were eager to come together to address them. We see the powerful ways in which student leadership can help make impactful changes.
Health professional students at the University of Minnesota are planning to enter the healthcare field in many different ways - as clinicians, community health workers, researchers, administrators, and more. Interprofessional learning helps us understand the distinct roles we have within the healthcare team while also connecting us to a shared purpose: improving the health and wellbeing of our communities.
At this year’s conference, we will aim to center our personal and professional values as emerging leaders in healthcare, which inspire us to connect, innovate, and promote equitable health outcomes for all. For that reason, our conference theme this year is "Connection for a Common Purpose: Centering Values & Striving for Health Equity."
The conference will host a keynote speaker, student-led breakout sessions, and a social hour to foster connection among health professional students.
