2019 Competition Information & Registration

*Registration is limited and granted on a first-come, first-serve basis.*

Participation is free! Winners of the local competition will be sponsored for the national competition.

  • Information session: October 29th, 2018 (12:15pm - 1:15pm)
  • Registration opens: October 15th 2018
  • Registration deadline: January 22nd 2019
  • Local case competition retreat: January 26th 2019 (In the morning, time TBD)
  • Competition date: March 2nd 2019

The case will be released in January 2019.

Registered teams will receive a Case Competition Guidebook, which includes:

  • Rules and regulations
  • Roles for students and advisors
  • Team definitions
  • Judging criteria
  • Contact information for additional questions
  • Technical assistance for team development

Once registration is closed, four-person teams will be randomly assigned. Team adjustments may be made in order to ensure each competing team represents at least two professions. Team assignments will be shared at the local case competition retreat (more information below). Requests to be on a team with specific people are not accepted.

  • 1st place  (shared award) $3,000
  • 2nd place (shared award): $2,000
  • 3rd place  (shared award): $1,000

Mandatory Local Case Competition Retreat

Mandatory Local Case Competition Retreat

This is when local teams will be assigned and the case will be distributed.

*ALL registered University of Minnesota Twin Cities, Rochester, and Duluth students MUST attend. If you cannot make the retreat but wish to participate in the case competition, you must contact us in advance and exceptions may be made on a case by case basis and a make-up session is required.*
