CHIP is proud to be a sponsor for the AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers In Service To America) program. AmeriCorps VISTA works with non-profit organizations and local and state agencies to expand the capacity of services offered in these organizations. VISTA members are talented and passionate individuals who are equipped to work on projects that the organization may not have the capacity to take on with existing resources.
CHIP's VISTA shares time with not only CHIP but also the CUHCC Clinic. Projects the VISTA is responsible for change from year to year. This school year, our VISTA is working on a number of projects that include the BeWell BIPOC Health Professional Student Collective, the CHIP Leadership Conference, CUHCC's BA/MD Project focused on opioid addiction initiatives, and the PHSRC/CHIP Collaboration - "Donate Your Test Prep."
VISTA members gain valuable perspective, experience and leadership skills that they then take with them as they move on to the next step of their careers.
