While students initiate and develop the majority of CHIP projects and initiatives, faculty play an important role by providing advice and guidance. Members of the Faculty Advisory Council advise CHIP by:
- meeting with the CHIP Student Advisory Council to develop the vision and long-term goals for the CHIP Student Center;
- creating opportunities for Academic Health Center faculty members to interact across disciplines;
- developing interprofessional academic initiatives for students;
- mentoring students to adopt healthy lifestyles, including stress management and professionalism, and promote peer-to-peer support and education in the area of substance abuse behaviors; and
- helping to recruit students to participate in CHIP programs and activities.
